The Oyster Inn
The Oyster Inn promotes itself as a kitchen, bar, shop and rooms and is located in the village of Oneroa on the north side of Waiheke Island. Set in a beautiful old building that has been recently refurbished there are great views out over Oneroa Bay. The menu understandably has a seafood emphasis and we found the food to be very good. There is a good wine list including many local wines, with enough choice of wines by the glass. The atmosphere is very much casual, beach side, island informal dining but delivered stylishly and well. The refurbishment has been done well and no doubt at considerable cost. On a visit to Waiheke it is a great place to eat, and being only a 40 minute ferry ride from downtown Auckland it is probably worth a visit just for lunch, but then there are shops as well!
