Bye bye corks

According to James Halliday, writing in the Weekend Australian of 17 November 2012, 95.4% of Australian table wines submitted for his Top 100 tasting are now bottled under screwcaps. This leaves less than 5% (4.6% to be exact) under cork, including Diam and ProCork.
White wines are now almost exclusively under screwcap, 99.5% of under $20 whites and 99.7% of over $20 whites. Red wine makers are progressively changing to screwcap, including Greenock Creek in the last 12 months. It only leaves the question, “Which will be the first Grange vintage released under screwcap?” Perhaps we should start taking bets!
