Chard Farm, Gibbston, Central Otago
» Posted on: 24 January, 2013
Chard Farm must be one of the most interesting winery locations in New Zealand. The drive along Chard Road is an adventure in itself! The road probably has the desired effect of filtering out groups in larger vehicles and those who aren’t adventurous by nature. If you survive the drive, what awaits you is a cellar door in a beautiful location, looking out over the vineyards and the Kawarau Gorge.
Chard Farm produces a range of Pinot Noirs and five different white wine varieties. The cellar door has a small range of merchandise. Chard Farm was one of the pioneer wineries in Central Otago, established in the 1980s, and is one of the must visit cellar doors in the region.
