When you arrive at Stonyridge Vineyard it looks a little more casual and informal than some of its island neighbours. Little would you now that it produces what is reputedly the best and most expensive wine made in New Zealand, Larose. Larose is a classic Cabernet dominant Bordeaux style wine, and it is a stunning wine. It is very hard to find, but find some if you can! The restaurant looks out over the vineyard to the north of the winery and has a delightful casual feel to it. Well worth a visit.
