Te Whau Vineyard has a stunning location at the end of Te Whau Rd on the southern side of Waiheke Island. It is a small production vineyard, typically less than 1,000 cases. The winery is under the cellar door and restaurant which have great views across the gulf to the mainland. Te Whau is best known for its Bordeaux blend "The Point", the quality of which we can attest to. There is much more that has been written about this lovely vineyard and its wines so go to www.tewhau.co.nz or better still hop on a ferry and pay them a visit.
The photo is of the north facing slopes taken from the entry to the winery. Needless to say the grapes are all hand picked.
