Bacchus Wine Bar and Restaurant
This restaurant was indeed a treat. The setting is in the heart of Dunedin in a lovely historic building that looks over the Octagon. This is an old world setting with new world imagination and a contemporary approach to their menu. They have been in business for 20years and are rightfully proud of their track record. Food was high quality, good taste combinations, generous helpings and a sophisticated mix of gourmet and traditional fare. The wine list was excellent and had a good choice of varieties, regions and countries.
This restaurant has been awarded the 'NZ Beef and Lamb Hallmark of Excellence' for the last 14 years and rightfully so. A special occasion place for most people but it would be a shame not to go there more often.
